Two of the comments Francis made are really sobering:
"Even in my own church I heard the words, 'Francis Chan' more than I heard the words 'Holy Spirit'."
Francis was never about making a name for himself. He is about making God famous and revered and honored and feared, thus the second statement that jumped off the page:
"If we were to meet God in person, Chan said, 'I think that the first thing He would say is you don't take me seriously. You have no idea how to fear me.'"
I agree and am a very guilty party. I love God, but if I were honest with Him, I would have to agree with Francis, I don't know how to fear God wholly, as I wish. God is still working on that part of my heart.
So, great article on Francis that I would recommend to anyone who asks why Francis left his church.
